6.3 How to Set Up and Use Private Ads on RedotPay P2P

Updated over 2 weeks ago

A private ad is a trade offer that is only visible to people you share it with. It can be opened through a unique link or QR code and does not appear in the public P2P marketplace or search results.

You still get the same trading flow, payment steps, and dispute protection as a public ad, but with more control over who can join the trade. Private ads are a good fit for larger amounts or when you want to trade only with fixed, trusted counterparties.

1. Who can create a private ad?

Both General Advertisers and Verified Advertisers can create private ads.

  • General Advertiser: up to 20 private ads per currency

  • Verified Advertiser: up to 200 Private Ads per currency

2. Who can buy or sell stablecoins via a private ad

Any user (regular user or advertiser) with the link or QR code can open the ad and place an order.

They must pass identity verification and any risk checks before the order can go through.

3. How to create a private ad

On the last step before posting your ad, choose how it will be shown:

  • Public: Visible in the marketplace and searchable

  • Private: Hidden from the marketplace and only accessible via link or QR code

Select [Private] to create a private ad, then share the link or QR code directly with your counterparty.

4. Fees, limits, and validity

Private ads follow the same rules as public ads:

  • Fees: Same fee policy as public ads (currently no fees, if applicable)

  • Trading limits: Same limit rules as public ads and platform updates

  • Ad duration: Same validity options as public ads

5. Link validity

If a private ad expires, is canceled, or becomes invalid, the link or QR code will no longer work. You’ll see the message: ‘The link is invalid or has expired.’

6. Can I restrict access by UID?

No. private ads cannot be limited to a specific UID.

They can only be accessed via the shared link or QR code, and no extra access controls are available.
