How to set up Google Authenticator for my RedotPay account

Updated yesterday

To enhance the security of your RedotPay account, we strongly recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) using the Google Authenticator app. This extra layer of protection helps secure sensitive operations, such as viewing your card's CVV or updating security settings.

Why Use 2FA?

Once linked, the Google Authenticator app generates a 6-digit verification code that refreshes every 30 seconds. This code is required when performing key operations, ensuring that only authorized users can access or change critical account details.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

1. Enable Google Authenticator in the RedotPay App

a. Open the RedotPay app, and tap the Profile icon in the upper-left corner.

b. Go to Security > Google Authenticator.

c. Tap Bind Google Authenticator.

2. Save the Backup Key

  • A Backup Key will be shown.

  • Important: Copy and save this key securely. It’s required if you need to restore access in the future.

3. Link Your RedotPay Account to Google Authenticator

a. Open the Google Authenticator app.

b. Tap the + symbol.

c. Choose Enter a setup key.

d. Enter an account name (e.g., "RedotPay") and paste the Backup Key.

e. Tap Add.

4. Complete the Verification

a. Return to the RedotPay app.

b. Enter the 6-digit code generated in the Google Authenticator app.

c. Enter the verification code sent to your registered mobile number or email to complete the setup.

Keep Your Backup Key Safe

After binding Google Authenticator, you will receive a backup key. Please store it securely. If you lose access to your device, this backup key allows you to restore 2FA and avoid account lockout.

By following these steps, you have successfully set up Google Authenticator for your RedotPay account, adding an extra layer of protection to your RedotPay account.
