What steps can I take to avoid payment rejections?

Updated this week

We want to help you keep your card working smoothly and avoid any declined transactions or extra fees. Try these simple tips:

1. Manage Subscription Payments

Subscription services are a business model where merchants automatically charge users at regular intervals (such as monthly, quarterly, or annually). This means that freezing, reporting a card as lost, deleting it, or card expiration may not prevent merchants from attempting to process subscription payments. If the card is inactive at the time, these attempts will be rejected and may incur fees.

  • If you no longer use a card with a merchant or platform, promptly unlink it.

  • Regularly review your active subscriptions and unlink your RedotPay card from services you no longer need.

2. Check Your Card Status

  • Always confirm your card status is active before making payments.

  • Transactions may be declined if your card is frozen, reported lost, expired, or deleted.

  • You can check card status in the RedotPay app to ensure your card is ready for use.

All of the cards below are deactivated:

3. Ensure You Have Sufficient Balance

  • Monitor your RedotPay account balance to make sure you have enough funds before paying.

  • Enable balance alerts to receive app notifications and email reminders when your funds fall below your chosen threshold. (See: How to Enable Low Balance Alert?)

  • Reserve transaction fees by keeping a little more than your purchase amount in your account. For example, if your balance is 100 USD and you make a payment of exactly 100 USD, the transaction may fail due to fees.

4. Verify Settings Before Paying

5. Follow Merchant Rules

  • Only transact with merchants that support RedotPay cards and ensure compliance with their specific payment rules.
